The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is an official NASA host for the Artemis I launch party and celebration on Monday, August 29. Doors open at 8 AM for the event; the livestream launch is scheduled for 8:33 AM.
Artemis I will be an uncrewed flight test of NASA’s new Space Launch System rocket and Orion capsule, and the first in a series of increasingly complex missions that will be the foundation of deep space human exploration. The Space Launch System is the most powerful rocket in the world and will propel the Orion capsule around the moon. Learn more about the Artemis program, sister of Apollo missions, and what the future holds for human habitation on the moon, Mars and beyond.
Youngsters can earn an Artemis badge by building and testing their own stomp rocket at the museum.
This event is free to the public, but reservations are recommended. Call 508-896-3867, extension 133, to reserve space.
