Microsoft may have already released Windows 11 22H2, but it has also introduced even more new features for its operating system. While some merely herald the return of functionality that failed to make the cut from Windows 10 to earlier Windows 11 builds, others are long-awaited. In a blog post, Microsoft outlines the following:
It is worth noting that the new Photos app will not arrive until the end of October, while its planned iCloud photo library integration will not be ready until sometime in November. Moreover, the Amazon Appstore within Windows 11 remains geofenced. Currently, the feature is active in 31 countries, although Microsoft’s definition of countries includes dependencies and territories like Christmas Island, Jersey and Tokelau.
Arguably, the most significant change is the inclusion of tabs within File Explorer, although the ability to bring up Task Manager from the taskbar is handy. According to Microsoft, most features are already shipping via an optional ‘non-security preview release’. Additionally, Microsoft is phasing a rollout via its servicing technology and Microsoft Store updates. You can read more about Microsoft’s latest changes to Windows 11 in its blog post.
